Wisconsin Lottery Mega Millions

The Wisconsin Lottery – or WI Lottery – is 1 of 46 US State & District Lotteries that offer the massive Mega Millions game – in this particular case the Wisconsin Mega Millions – as part of its overall portfolio of lottery games.

The Mega Millions is a Multi-State USA Lottery game that is run and operated by the Mega Millions Consortium – who administer and syndicate the game across the USA and is one of the largest lottery games in the world – having produced a massive world record jackpot of US$ 656 MILLION in March 2012. This huge amount was shared between 3 winning Mega Millions tickets from Illinois, Kansas and Maryland and currently stands as the 2nd biggest jackpot ever won to date in the history of jackpot lottery games around the world.

The very first Mega Millions draw took place on May 17th 2002 with 6 USA Lottery companies taking part who were all members of the Mega Millions Consortium.

The game had changed its name and format from the Big Game which had first started back on August 31st 1996. Upon this change – 2 further State Lottery companies joined and more would follow.

The WI Mega Millions was first sold on January 31st 2010 when the Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL) who run the Powerball game – of which the WI Lottery became the 8th member of on August 10th 1989 – entered into a cross-selling agreement with the Mega Millions consortium allowing the sales of Mega Millions in Powerball states and Powerball in Mega Millions states.

WI Mega Millions How it Works

The Wisconsin Mega Millions operates in exactly the same way as the Mega Millions game works in all the States and Districts in the US that offer the game.

Jackpots start off at US$ 15 MILLION and ROLLOVER after each draw when the top prize is not won – making for some enormous jackpot figures.

6 numbers are drawn in total for the Mega Millions Indiana from 2 separate drawing machines – firstly 5 numbers from 75 white balls are drawn and then 1 number (the MEGAball) from 15 gold balls (MEGAballs) are drawn.

Draws for the Wisconsin Lottery Mega Millions take place twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10.00pm CST.

In addition to the 6 Mega Millions numbers drawn – a further number is drawn – using a Random Number Generator…the Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number…

MEGAPLIER…

This separate MEGAPLIER prize multiplier number drawn will be either 2, 3, 4 or 5 – and is there to give players of the Mega Millions WI a chance to increase their winnings on all levels of the prize structure apart from the Mega Millions WI jackpot itself.

With MEGAPLIER – you are able to multiply your winnings on these levels by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x – greatly increasing the amount you can walk away with.

If a player matches the 5 main Mega Millions numbers playing with the MEGAPLIER add-on – and a MEGAPLIER number of 5 is drawn – the second tier prize of US$ 1 MILLION would be multiplied by x5 and they would win US$ 5 MILLION.

WI Mega Millions How to Play

The aim when you are playing is to correctly select as many of the Mega Millions winning prize numbers as possible – and with a total of 9 different ways in which you can win on the WI Mega Millions – you have a great chance of winning a prize.

There are principally 4 ways you can play the WI Mega Millions

1. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 75 plus your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 15.

2. Pick 5 of your own main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 75 and use the Quick Pick option to let the computer choose your Mega Ball (gold ball) number for you from 1 to 15 – using a lotto number picker / random number generator.

3. Use the Quick Pick option to let the computer pick your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 75 using a random number generator – and then pick your own Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 15.

4. Use the Quick Pick option available to let the computer choose both your 5 main (white ball) numbers from 1 to 75 and also your 1 Mega Ball (gold ball) number from 1 to 15 using its random number generator.

You can use any of these methods whether you are playing the WI Mega Millions in-state or if you Play Mega Millions Online with an authorized online lottery ticket sales company such as TheLotter.

MEGAPLIER…

For just an extra dollar – you can choose to increase your Mega Millions WI winnings on all levels except the jackpot – by adding the MEGAPLIER option when playing the Mega Millions WI.

If your chosen WI Mega Millions numbers correctly match the Mega Millions winning numbers on any of these prize levels – you will increase your winnings immediately by either 2, 3, 4 or 5 times – depending on what Mega Millions MEGAPLIER number was drawn.

If you play Mega Millions with MEGAPLIER and you are lucky enough to correctly select the 5 main Mega Millions numbers and a MEGAPLIER number of 5 is drawn – the second tier Mega Millions prize of US$ 1 MILLION will be increased by 5x and you will walk away with US$ 5 MILLION.

An enhancement to the MEGAPLIER option took place on October 19th 2013.

This will increase your winnings even further if you play Mega Millions using the
MEGAPLIER multiplier.

A Mega Millions MEGAPLIER multiplier of x5 was introduced meaning that your non-jackpot winnings can now be increased by up to 5 times.

This means - for example - that if you match ALL 5 of the main Mega Millions numbers and play using the MEGAPLIER feature – your Mega Millions 2nd prize
win of US$ 1 MILLION can now be increased up to US$ 5 MILLION.
