Kansas Lottery

The origins of the KS Lottery were in 1986 when state voters overwhelmingly decided upon the creation of an in-state lottery.

In 1987 the “Kansas Lottery Act” was passed and the KS Lottery was created with the aim of generating the largest amount of revenue it could, for Kansas state and at the same time to run its operation with the highest level of integrity.

The government of Kansas runs the Kansas State Lottery and its very first tickets went on sale to the public on November 12th 1987. These initial tickets were for the instant lottery game “Up and Away”.

Kansas Lottery is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) who run the Powerball lottery and includes the Kansas Power Ball lottery amongst its games.

Other games that the KS Lotto has to offer include various scratch-off tickets, the video lottery “Cashola”, Hot Lotto, Keno, Pick 3, 2by2, Kansas Hold’Em and the game that we will be taking a closer look at here – Super Kansas Cash

Super Kansas Cash – Overview

Super Kansas Cash is the traditional draw-style, lotto jackpot game of the Kansas State Lottery. It is Kansas state’s main lotto game and is going strong today having undergone various upgrades and enhancements over the years.

The lotto game in Kansas was first introduced in 1988 with tickets first being sold on June 2nd. It was called “Cash Lotto” at that time.

On August 18th 1996 the “Cash Lotto” game was improved upon with the result being the introduction of the new lotto-style game “Kansas Cash”.

The current game, Super Kansas Cash, came into existence on February 17th 2002 as a much enhanced version of the previous offering, Kansas Cash.

The jackpot for the Super Kansas Cash game commences at $100,000 and “rolls over” each time it is not won. This figure is then added onto the following draw’s jackpot and increases in size each draw until somebody wins it when it will revert to the starting jackpot sum of $100,000 again.

Super Kansas Cash is a 5 + 1 number lotto game which uses 2 matrices of 5/32 and 1/25. It differs slightly from many other USA lottery games in that for your $1.00 entry cost you actually get 2 plays.

We are very pleased to have reviewed the Kansas Lottery – Super Kansas Cash game and would recommend having a go at any time to try your luck – first of all, though, take a look at how it works below…

How It Works…

The Kansas Lottery – Super Kansas Cash - uses 2 separate matrices. The first being a 5/32 matrix which contains the main numbers and the second a 1/25 matrix which contains a bonus number called the “Super Cashball”.

So, when playing Super Kansas Cash, you will first need to select 5 numbers from a pool of numbers from 1 to 32 – and then select the “Super Cashball” from the second pool of numbers from 1 to 25. As you get 2 lines for each entry you will need to actually select 2 sets of 6 numbers here.

If you match all 5 main numbers plus the Super Cashball, you will be a Kansas Lotto – Super Kansas Cash jackpot winner.

In addition to the jackpot itself, there are more ways in which you can win on the Super Kansas Cash than on most lotto games – with 7 additional ways to win.

2 Line For Just $1.00...

Remember, as you get 2 lines for each entry you will need to actually select 2 sets of 6 numbers for this game.

As well as the top prize, you can win if you match the 5 main numbers, 4 mian numbers plus the Super Cashball, 4 main numbers, 3 main numbers plus the Super Cashball, 3 main numbers, 2 main numbers plus the Super Cashball, or even just 1 main number plus the Super Cashball.

A Super Kansas Cash Quick Pick facility is available when playing this Kansas Lottery game, very much the same as the “Lucky Dip” option that is used in the UK National Lottery or Europe’s Euro-Millions or many other USA lottery games – which means that you can ask the lottery retailer or computer to randomly select all your Kansas Lottery numbers for you.

So, playing Super Kansas Cash is simple…just select your own 5 + 1 numbers or request them to be randomly generated for you by using the Quick Pick option.

The cost of each entry into this Kansas State Lotto game is the standard sum of $1.00 – but as we mentioned earlier, for this – you get 2 entries!

Random Number Generator

Along with a few other US lotteries that make their draws using a Random Number Generator (RNG), the KS Lottery numbers are drawn this way too as opposed to the traditional way of using numbered balls being drawn from a drum. The draws take place in Topeka, Kansas.

Who Can Play?

As with most US Lotteries games, previously only citizens living in the State of Kansas were allowed to play in any of the Kansas State Lottery games - including the Super Kansas Cash - you used to have to purchase your KS lotto tickets from an authorized retailer based in Kansas itself.

Nowadays, though, there are a good number of online lottery ticket sales companies such as TheLotter who are both authorized and genuine - you are able to select your Kansas Lottery numbers online and purchase your tickets without worrying about where in the world you may be living.

This is good news of course if you live outside of the USA and Kansas and want to play the Super Kansas Cash and ensure your entry into the next drawing or just want to have the convenience and ease of being able to buy lottery tickets online for the Kansas Lottery.

Once you have entered into the Kansas Lotto draw, you can then easily check your chosen Kansas Lottery results online to see how you have done and to find out if you have become one of the lucky Super Cash winners.

You will need to be 18 years of age to be eligible to purchase a ticket for any of the Kansas State Lottery games including Super Kansas Cash.

Some great news here for all USA Lottery players in Kansas...

The Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL) – who administer the POWERBALL game
plus the HOT LOTTO – and the Mega Millions consortium – who administer the MEGA MILLIONS game – have entered into an historic cross-sales agreement across the USA.
All US Lotteries that previously sold POWERBALL and HOT LOTTO tickets can now
ALSO sell MEGA MILLIONS tickets – giving access to a wider choice of games.

This means that with effect from January 31st 2010 – in addition to the existing
POWERBALL and HOT LOTTO – USA Lottery players in Kansas will now ALSO
be able to buy lottery tickets for the MEGA MILLIONS game. You can still
buy lottery tickets online, of course, from anywhere around the world.
